Having become
the financial provider for employees of a large technology company, First
Financial Federal Credit Union needed to expand west of its Albuquerque,
New Mexico main office for closer proximity to its member base. First
Financial turned to KDA Holdings to help correctly plan a facility that
would incorporate unique interior designs to appeal to technology-oriented
members while building a functional facility with room to grow.
First Financial envisioned a contemporary facility interior that technology
professionals could relate to, without creating an atmosphere that was
too avant-garde. Additionally, First Financial wanted a “forward-thinking”
space plan that would enable the gradual phase-in of retail merchandising
and new service technology as future budgets allowed.
KDA’s design solution brought exterior materials like stone and metal
roofing indoors to create walls and ceilings and incorporate the look
of a technology environment. Woods like cherry and natural colors of terra
cotta, green and sand were used to warm, relax and balance the overall
aesthetic. Moreover, the space was planned strategically so that with
a quick furniture adjustment, the waiting area will convert into a technical
merchandising area for computer-touch services when needed.
